Your call, but say it on the invoice either way. 'Diagnostic fee — credited toward repair' converts more repairs; a standalone fee protects your time on no-go quotes. Ambiguity is the only wrong answer.
How do I bill refrigerant on an HVAC invoice?+
By the pound, as its own line item with the refrigerant type (e.g. 'R-410A, 3 lbs @ $75'). Prices swing a lot, so itemizing protects your margin and shows the client exactly what they paid for.
Do I need my EPA certification on the invoice?+
It's not legally required on the invoice itself, but adding your EPA 608 number builds trust and signals you're certified to handle refrigerant. Many techs put it next to their license number.
